It’s a question many of us have asked while studying or working in a new culture.
On October 24, PKNIC Mentoring is hosting an online webinar, A New Formula for Studying in the U.S., featuring PKNIC Career Coach Woon Young Park and me. We’ll explore four questions:
• Why do people in the U.S. sometimes communicate and act differently?
• Why does effective communication involve more than English proficiency?
• How can we take initiative instead of waiting for opportunities?
• How do we share our own stories and strengths beyond a polished résumé?
Un Yeong is a PKNIC Career Coach with 20 years of experience helping people navigate global careers. I’m a former international student, an educator at the University of Pittsburgh, and a co-author of a guidebook on studying in the U.S. Together, we’ll share practical perspectives on communicating your strengths and finding your own path in the U.S.
The flyer is in Korean, so I wanted to share the details in English as well. The webinar will be held in Korean.
