2026 Pittsburgh Korean Intergenerational Community Day

From 6 Months to 70+: Warm Stories and Connections Across Generations

The day began with BRIDGES, a conversation for Korean youth and parents about cultural and generational differences, communication, identity, and mental health.

In the afternoon, our Korean Professional Gathering/FLC Reunion brought together six panelists who shared honest stories about building their lives in the United States—including uncertainty, setbacks, career transitions, and the unexpected possibilities they discovered along the way.

Over lunch, students, parents, professionals, and community members from different generations had an opportunity to meet and connect. We also visited the Korean Heritage Room and reflected on the history of the Korean community in Pittsburgh.

What stayed with me most was the power of an honestly shared story. One person’s experience can become reassurance, encouragement, or a new perspective for someone else.

My heartfelt thanks to our panelists, participants, volunteers, the Korean American Association of Greater Pittsburgh, and the Overseas Koreans Agency for helping make this gathering possible.

When life gives us lemons, we make lemonade together. 🍋
